An armed group has attacked a major pipeline in Nigeria’s Delta region, for the third time in a week. The Niger Delta Avengers group claimed responsibility for the attack. The group has been targeting Nigeria’s oil infrastructure for a number of months, and are putting increased pressure on Muhammadu Buhari’s government. The president has made an election promise to crush militia and terrorists groups, including Boko Haram. Nigeria’s oil production dropped from 2.2 million barrels a day to a 20-year low of 1.4 million barrels a day.
