South Africa’s state-owned freight group Transnet, handed over the last 15 passenger coaches to Botswana Railways in Cape Town. Transnet earlier this year, released 22 coaches to the Botswana utility.
Botswana authorities said in June, that they are investigating a R250 million ($16.3 million) corruption charge involving Transnet. Botswana claims that some of the coaches delivered aren’t new, with one of the trains breaking down in Francistown. Transnet denied the charge.
