$10 billion –

Financial constraints have forced Tanzania to miss out on the ownership of the $10 billion Bagamoyo Port and Special Economic Zone project. The government failed to raise enough money to compensate landowners who were relocated. China Merchants Holdings International (CMHI), a port management firm, is understood to be ready to raise money for the compensation. The Bagamoyo port aims to address the congestion at the Dar es Salaam port. The port is 75 km from Dar es Salaam and 10 km from Bagamoyo town. More
